Who We Are.
ART was founded in 1987 with the vision of bringing genuine client service and the most qualified team to every project. Decades later the new principals, Doug McCord, Dev Pawar and Erica Quintana, build on that same vision with diversity, enthusiasm and a commitment to the community.
Licensed in over 20 states, our staff of over a dozen professionals features registered architects, interior designers, draftsmen, project managers, Living Future Accredited Professionals and construction administrators.
We have long understood that our success stems from working cooperatively and directly with our clients, forming a beneficial partnership. From the very beginning, our principals get involved and maintain a hands-on approach for a project’s duration.

A|R|T is also proud of our participation in the JUST label, an innovative social justice transparency platform hosted by the International Living Future Institute (ILFI), a global sustainability hub, administering multi-scale strategies and regenerative green building solutions.
A|R|T is the FIRST organization in Arizona to earn the Just. Label.
Our label (below) and policies are available online for all to access, shedding light on A|R|T’s commitment to diversity, equity, safety, worker benefit, local benefit, and stewardship.
These are the core tenets of our firm; but, what we all truly value is each other and the work we do together to build better communities. We express this kinship by re-creating and volunteering together whenever we can.
Our Value to Others:
It’s time we change how places are made.
We’re witnessing a tremendous shift in how—and where—people want to live and work. And we’re not building thoughtfully enough to meet these demands responsibly.
Decades of sprawl development have left a legacy of outdated regulations that codify inequity and hinder innovative development. And what currently passes as sustainable design merely does “less harm,” rather than doing good.
At A|R|T, we know there’s a better way. It’s called regenerative design—a holistic approach to creating buildings and places that give back more than they take to their inhabitants, communities, and the planet.
To prove it, we’re designing and building Arizona’s first certified Living Building. Called the Sonoran Studio, the structure will serve as our architecture firm’s new home—and an example for others to emulate.
The time is now to move beyond sustainable design. With our deep understanding of some of our country’s harshest environments, and an ethos rooted in equitable, forward-thinking design, we are uniquely suited to work with our clients to usher in a new era of regenerative architecture and development throughout the Southwest and beyond.
The Studio Outside the Studio
A|R|T believes strongly in caring and respecting each other as well as re-creating together outside the Studio. We take every opportunity available to play and volunteer together and plan Studio retreats to grow together and explore nature.
