This 6,000 square foot site functioned as a government-run boarding school for Native Americans nearly a century ago. A|R|T’s designed renovation transformed into a space for gathering, education, and reflection. The new building includes meeting rooms, offices, a gallery, a classroom, and commercial kitchen. The Band Building is key to preserving the legacy of the Phoenix Indian School, and its restoration and cultural programming brought life back into the building as a space for Native Americans to meet and share their culture in a variety of ways.
